In 2016, n Engineering Inc. was tasked with providing engineering services for the forthcoming McDonald’s restaurant in Belleville, Ontario. This project encompassed site grading, site servicing, and the design of erosion and sediment control measures for a 1.26-acre plot.

n Engineering Inc. services included:

  • Site Servicing;
  • Stormwater Management Plan;
  • Ditch Design;
  • Entrance Design;
  • Culvert Design;
  • General Review of above items construction

Situated in close proximity to Highway 401, the location is surrounded by a gas station, a hotel, and various trucking companies. Anticipated to attract significant traffic, the McDonald’s restaurant was poised to serve both highway travelers and guests from the adjacent hotel on the east side of the property.

Concurrently, n Engineering Inc.’s sister company, n Architecture Inc., undertook preparations for Site Plan Approval. This process necessitated a reconfiguration of the existing right-of-way easement. The two teams collaborated to determine a new location for the right-of-way easement that would connect the two neighbouring motel and gas station properties. Additionally, plans were made for a new sewer easement to link up with the existing water/sewer easement on the adjoining property.

Construction activities commenced in 2022, with n Engineering diligently overseeing the progress through periodic site visits. Their team ensured that construction proceeded as scheduled, with a strong emphasis on safety and the avoidance of any complications. At each visit, the team documented the work completed at that time and outlined the subsequent steps in the construction process. The project was successfully completed in July 2023.
